Cooper's 1st Trip to the ER!!!

So... we had to take Coop to the ER on Sunday night (we were there from 10pm-1:30am) because he had a high temp that wouldn't go away!! They ran a bunch of tests (blood, urine, and xray) to make sure it wasn't an infection or fluid in his lungs.... everything came back okay so they let us take him home. His fever didn't go way in the morning so our Ped Doctor had us bring him in on Monday morning. They decided Coop has a flu like virus... called Day Care and they said that a fever without any other symptoms (what Cooper has) is going around. Doctor suggested giving him Tylenol and if it doesn't go away by Wednesday- then we needed to bring him back. Coop still had a fever last night and had a little bit of a rough night (rough to us is having to wake up more then once... haha).... I took yesterday off and today Mark and I were able to "tag team" and both do a half day at work!! Coop is back to himself today with lots of smiles and no fever since 4am!! WOW.. scary experience... first time with sick baby... NOT FUN!! Being a Parent is amazing EXCEPT when your baby is sick!!!

Cooper goes to Day Care.... and Mommy cries!!

After 9 very quick weeks of Maternity Leave- I reluctantly went back to work and Cooper started Day Care on Monday. Dropped Cooper off at Day Care in the morning and I cried the whole time I was there (I couldn't even talk to the Day Care Ladies about his feeding schedule).. I cried in the parking lot of my work for 10 minutes... then I cried for an hour and a half when I got to work!! I am not kidding either!! My boss felt so bad for me that she let me go get Cooper at 1pm when I was supposed to stay until 5:30pm!!! When I picked Cooper up from Day Care- they told me that he pretty much cried the whole morning also (I tell myself it was becase he missed me and not because he hasn't pooped in 2 days)!! Haha... Coop and I are doing much better now!! I have made it through the past two days until 5:30pm without crying!! Haha... I am not sure if any of you Mommies out there went through the same thing when going back to work... I hope I am not the only crazy Mom!! Cooper is slowly adjusting to Day Care as well. When we got home last night from work we had to do everything in our power to keep him away until it was time for bed at 8pm! He slept throughout the night without waking up once!! We had to wake him up this morning to feed him before taking him to Day Care!! Needless to say- we will adapt to this new life we live, however, I think we will both miss the days of cuddling and hanging out just the two of us :-)

Trip to Dubuque!!

Last weekend we headed to Dubuque to celebrate Cooper's cousin- Alexis' homecoming. As you can see... Cooper has a few pounds and inches on Alexis! They are almost exactly 8 weeks apart!

We also celebrated Cooper's cousin- Logan's 9th Birthday! Not too much longer and Logan will be old enough to babysit Cooper!

We spent time with Cooper's Great Aunts- Georgia and Barb (you can see where he gets his RED HAIR)!!

One of Cooper's favorite part of the weekend was Grammie Kennedy feeding him! He can't wait for the cookies Grammie will give him the second he can consume solid food!

Cooper's 2 Month Doctor's Appointment!

Cooper's 2 Month Doctor's Appointment went as good as can be expected! They weighed him in at 12 Lbs 14 Oz (75% for weight). They measured him at 22 inches for height (10%), however, Cooper was not very excited about being on the cold scale so he did not stretch out completely. I laughed when the doctor said he was only 10% for height because Cooper's Daddy is 6'8"- the Doctor laughed back and said that Cooper is not going to be a short kid! His head was 60%. When it came time for the shots, Cooper did MUCH better then Mommy! Needless to say- I cried harder then he did! Enjoy the pictures Lynn Johnson took as she joined me for his first big appointment because Daddy had to work!

P.S. We measured Cooper at home later that day- he is 25" long!!

Cooper Meets his Cousin, Alexis Pint!

Cooper's cousin, Alexis Pint, was born on Sept. 15th, 2009. Cooper had the honor of meeting her only hours after she was born! Both Alexis and my sister, Gina, are doing great! Alexis was 7 Lbs 4 Oz and 19 inches long! Cooper looks HUGE next to her! It's amazing how quickly they grow! Enjoy their first picture together.

Trip Down South!

Cooper took his first trip down South over Labor Day Weekend! He did GREAT on his first airplane ride! He was either eating, sleeping, or laughing at his Daddy. During the trip down South he met a lot of important people! He met his "Aunts and Uncles" whom he loved, his first girlfriend, Anouk, and the person he is named after, Great Grandma Marshall. Thanks to everyone who provided a place to say, some food to eat, and most importantly- quality time with Cooper!
